Working in IT and also high-end surveillance system and having the OOSSXX system in my house, I can give it a fair review. The interface on the NVR is a little cumbersome, and there seems to be many different third-party web sites to get software/Firmware from. I am not sure why OOSSXX can't just put everything under one roof (website)? Now here comes the fun part-Too Much Connection Error. I have never heard of that in my life. What does it mean? How to fix? I have everything going through Linksys wireless router to a 48 port POE switch which I all my cameras are plugged into. The IP cameras report back an IP address back to the Linksys router Device Table. If there is an IP address conflict, more than likely you will get this Too Much Connection Error. Step 1. Turn off your NVR. Step 2. Turn off the POE Switch (if you have one). Step 3. Clear the Device Table on your router and let it reboot. Step 4: Power on your switch and then your NVR. This should hopefully clear everything up, and the cameras will be back online again.
As a side note. OOSSXX Onvif cameras will work with other NVR's. I am currently in the process of switching everything over to a TVN-11 Tru-Vision NVR mixed between Tru-Vision IP cameras and OOSSXX. The Onvif OOSSXX 5MP cameras will be recognized through the Device Configuration Tool and can be pulled into the Tru-Vision Navigator.
